For master degree students, you have to present once every semester (so four times in total for two years); for PhD students, you also need to present once every semester for your first two years of PhD study (therefore, also four times in total for two years).

For both master and PhD degree students, all presentations and QA must be carried out in English.

課程目標

課程要求
Notes for speech:
1. This course is an internal discussion on data that has not been disclosed to the public. The content of the discussion does not affect future applications for intellectual property and patents.
2. The seminar courses are jointly participated by the master and PhD students. The master student will need to present once every semester, four times in two years; the first and second grades of the doctoral class also need to participate and present their work, once every semester, four times in two years.
3. PhD students need to use English for their presentation and throughout the discussion, including reports and questions. (According to the regulations of the doctoral program). Master students need to use English for presentation, too but asking questions or answering is not limited to English.
4. The weekly presiding teacher shall be the instructor/lab PI whose students give the presentation on that week.
5. The LCD projector and laptop needed for the lecture will be borrowed from the department administration office by the first student of the week and returned to the office when finished.
6. Speakers shall arrive 10 minutes early to pre-test the devices, other students shall get in place 5 minutes before the stating of the class. The class starts at 3:30pm on time.
7. Report content: Topic Discussion 1: Report the content of the subject to be researched. Panel Discussion 2: Do related literature discussions on research topics, customize a topic, and report systematically. Panel Discussion Three: Designated by the instructor, the research progress report or another literature discussion can be carried out. Panel Discussion 4: Summary report of research progress.
8. Each student will give a speech for 18 minutes (the bell will ring once at 16 minutes), a discussion for 10 minutes, and a professor's comment for 2 minutes, 30 minutes in total per presenter.
9. Please make sure you remember the date of your speech and do not change it without authorization; unless you have important matters and cannot match the time listed on the table, please obtain the consent of the host teacher of the week before swapping the time with another student.
10. The abstract must be uploaded to NTU COOL and mailed to all professors via e-mails a week before the presentation.
11. Grading method: (1) A demographic report accounted for 65% of the total score. When questions are asked, the students must answer the questions themselves. If necessary, the instructor will make supplements and make a final summary. (2) The attendance rate accounts for 10% of the total score. All personal leave must be requested through the National Taiwan University Student Leave System in advance, and sick leave can be requested after recovery. Those who are absent without request for leave will be deducted five points each time. Ten minutes after the start of the speech (3:40 pm), the class representative will collect the signature slip. Those who do not sign in on time will be regarded as late. Those who are late for two times will be deducted from the final score. (3) Students' questions account for 25% of the total score. The score is not based on the number of answers and there is no basic score. This score is scored by the reporter's instructor based on the appropriateness and constructiveness of the question. (5) You will pass this course with a score of 70 points or more.
12. The above precautions are subject to changes announced by the course teacher Yi-Tse Hsiao
